Married and Father of 3 beautiful girls. Originally from Brisbane, Ricky has lived in Melbourne for the past 12 years.

Ricky first became aware of John Maclean whilst watching Wide World of Sport. He watched John's amazing effort at the legendry Hawaiian Ironman, in the late 90's. Ricky met John face to face in Melbourne in 2001. "To this day John remains one of my closest friends. John and I share a common goal for adventure, enjoying life and laughter. I don’t see John in a chair. To me John is one of the boys and it is important we treat him as such. We make him do everything we do".

Ricky completed his first triathlon in 1987. After 5 years he decided to focus on his business career. In 2004 John tried to persuade Ricky to do Ironman Western Australia. Ricky declined saying "been there, done that". John's respnse was "you have done nothing until you have finished an ironman". In 2008 Ricky was privileged to have finished his first ironman. Ricky is now up to ironman number 11, with many more to go, including the famous Hawaiian Ironman in October 2011.

To raise money as part of Team Maclean is the easy part; whether you participate in an ironman, ride a bike, or attend a function which supports this cause. The joy you share in knowing you are assisting in making these little wheelie's lives that little bit easier is so rewarding. We need and appreciate all the support we receive".
