Another step closer to London 2012 Paralympics

Monday, 05 September 2011 15:28

London 2012 ParalympicsJohn Maclean and rowing partner Kathryn Ross have secured Australia a berth at the 2012 Paralympic Games. The trunk and arms mixed double scull combination won their repechage at the world titles in Slovenia on Tuesday 30th August, going on to win Bronze in the final over the weekend. Just making it into the final meant they were guaranteed a top-six finish at the regatta, which is all they needed to qualify their boat for next year's Paralympic Games in London. John and Kathryn, who will still have to be selected in the crew next year despite their success, became the first Australian crew to qualify for the London Olympic or Paralympic Games.
