Jason Egan
The John Maclean Foundation has thrown its support behind the ‘BIG PUSH’ for Jason Egan. Jason is a seven-year-old boy who was born with his cerebellum (back of his brain) not fully formed. Over the years his cerebellum has been and will continue to slowly deteriorate. Jason’s malformation is an extremely rare syndrome unknown to the doctors. Jason has also very weak muscle tone and is unable to sit without support and he is also unable to talk.
Emilie Miller
When Emilie Miller tragically broke her neck in a swimming training accident in January 2008 her world changed forever. For many youngsters in her position it could have been the beginning of the end. However, few people could have envisaged Emilie’s determination and fighting spirit to continue pursuing her love of competition in the pool despite her situation.
Deanna Coenik
Food Spectrum CEO Mark Betts and the John Maclean Foundation joined forces at the 2009 Ironman Western Australia Triathlon which saw Betts battle 40 Degree heat as he worked his way through the 3.8 Kilometre Swim, 180 Kilometre Cycle and 42.2 Kilometre run. Rather than simply participate in the event to achieve a personal goal, Betts raised over $26,000 for the John Maclean Foundation through his participation, which includes the funding presented to seven year old Deanna Coenik.
