Application Process
Step 1: Submitting an application
Download the JMF Grant Application Kit. (PDF 437kb)
Please complete the application form and send a signed copy to: Grant Applications, The John Maclean Foundation, PO Box 94, Black Rock VIC 3193
Step 2: Application assessment
Once we have received your application and your application matches all the qualifying criteria, we will assign you a case number. The family and the referring Agency (where applicable) will be emailed notification.
Step 3: JMF generate funds for your grant
JMF only provide grants on a ‘localised fundraising event’ basis. This means that your application may not be reviewed until after a JMF event has occurred in your region.
- If a JMF fundraising event has not occurred within 12 months of your application, the application will expire and you will need to submit another application, to indicate that the funds are still required
- If a fundraising event has been planned and your grant has been approved JMF will contact the referring Agency &/or the Supplier to obtain a quote.
If a Fundraiser is specifically raising funds, through JMF, for the recipient, only a maximum of 75% of the funds raised will be appropriated towards this recipient’s grant. The remaining 25% will go towards covering JMF’s administration costs (eg transaction fees) and distributed to other JMF grant applications.
Step 4: Receiving and using your JMF grant
As JMF grants have resulted directly from a fundraising event, the recipient and carer may be invited to attend a grant presentation ceremony. Your attendance/inclusion in such events is completely voluntary.
If you have been notified that you have been awarded a grant your supplier or referring Agency must provide JMF with an invoice within 3 months, or your grant will expire and the funds will be offered to another little wheelie.
No money will be paid directly to the carer or the recipient. Payment will be made directly to the Supplier against an invoice, or where part funding is provided, to the authorised referring Agency.
Step 5: Providing feedback
After a few months JMF will contact the carer and conduct a quick survey to ascertain the effectiveness of the JMF Grant. With the carer's permission this information will be used to update the fundraisers directly involved with your grant, and help generate more funds for other little wheelies.
