Holly Stead has no formal diagnosis. Her disability is severe. She is unable to sit independently, and is fully dependent on adult carers for all aspects of her daily care and activities. Holly’s mother sustained a back injury as a result of the physical work she must do to care for Holly. Her father is constantly at risk of the same injury. Holly requires many pieces of supportive equipment for her simple daily care, which provides essential safety for herself and her carers. Holly now owns a ceiling hoist, thanks to John Maclean Foundation, which is required every time she is lifted or moved, and her carer s are now relieved of potential risk of injury. Holly and her family attended the John Maclean Foundation's official presentation of funds at the Urban Hotel in St Kilda 9th February.
