John Maclean Foundation - Help us chase our dreams:

Meet Emily

Melbourne's Emily Eliot is a secondary school student who presents with a diagnosis of cerebral palsy - ataxia. Emily has made amazing progress with her physical skills. However, she still requires a manual wheelchair for long distance mobility. She also requires significant physical assistance for  many daily tasks including dressing, recording of school work, etc. Emily’s parents frequently contribute to the purchase of aids and equipment for Emily, and also try to contribute to some of the funding required for Emily’s aide support at school. Emily had her previous wheelchair since early primary school days to which she grew out of and was consequently uncomfortable and unsafe. The John Maclean Foundation has funded the cost of a new manual wheelchair for Emily so she can now go to school and move about day to day feeling comfortable, confident and safe. Emily and her family attended the official presentation of funds at the Urban Hotel in St Kilda on 9th February.
